Singapore Consulate in Ho Chi Minh City was opened in 1992. It was headed by Mr Goh Seow Kwang, Consul and located at 5 Phung Khac Khoan Street.
The Consulate was upgraded to Consulate-General in March 1997 and moved to its present location at Saigon Centre, 65 Le Loi Boulevard. Mr Foo Chin Kwok was appointed the first Consul-General in March 1997. The current Consul-General, Mr Pong Kok Tian, assumed post on 15 March 2010.
