Central Elgin Collegiate Institute

Central Elgin Collegiate Institute, located in St. Thomas, is a secondary school offering a wide range of courses Gr. 9 - 12. The staff at CECI have many interests and talents which enable them to also work with students in a number of extra-curricular activities. Central Elgin students are highly motivated and take pride in doing their best both academically and in team and club events.

The coat of arms, designed in 1965 by Mr. David Fisher, is emblematic of the nature and philosophy of our school. Emblazoned on a white shield are two open books, a fierce tiger, and an ancient key, representing in turn the strength of the intellect, the strength of the body, and the moral strength of the spirit. These together symbolize the threefold aim of education, inviting us to build keen minds, strong bodies, and true spirits.
