Australian Swiss Chamber of Commerce and Industry Pestalozzi

Early in 1984, a number of Swiss and Australian business executives established a steering committee to examine the viability of a Swiss-Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. This resulted in the inaugural meeting of SACCI being held in October 1984 where an Executive Committee was appointed. The first Annual General Meeting took place early in 1985 at which the Swiss Ambassador to Australia presented Foundation Member Certificates to some 40 members. SACCI was incorporated as a non-profit company limited by guarantee in July 1985.

SACCI aims to be recognised as the pre-eminent promoter of commercial interests between Switzerland and Australia.

Our objectives are:

• To promote the development and expansion of bilateral trade and commerce between Swiss and Australian business.

• To maintain and foster a special relationship with the Swiss Government.

• To promote and support investment between Switzerland and Australia.

• To represent Swiss interests in Australia and, where appropriate, Australian interests in Switzerland.

• To distribute information on trade & commerce to business, industry and the media.

• To engage in basic market research in accordance with the needs of members and other interested parties.

• To liaise with Swiss and Australian government sources in matters relating to trade, industry and commerce between the two countries.

SACCI is an integral part of the Swiss-Australian commercial environment, and will be guided by its prime responsibility and commercial contract to serve the need for a high quality, best value provider of business interest services.
As a key provider to members and future clients, we will make important, distinctive contributions to the Swiss-Australian commercial sector. Our purpose will be to facilitate business communication, through delivery of specific services designed to increase both the likelihood and volume of commercial activity between the two countries.
We will be readily recognised as offering value for services of excellence through effective use of resources, our experience in the field, effective systems of management, innovation in relationship development and high levels of client focus.
