British School of Valencia

Since it was founded in 1989, the British School of Valencia has aimed to offer students an excellent academic background and life education as fundamental characteristics of its educational model. Based on the English educational model, our teaching and training activities reinforce the ties between Spanish and British culture, encouraging the integration of our students, and stimulating the person from the academic and personal point of view. Our students sit the University of Cambridge exams and enjoy a series of suitable facilities, which are constantly being expanded, designed to support the learning process.

In addition to English as the language used in learning, our students of course learn Spanish, French as the second foreign language for all students, and we plan to offer the possibility of, additionally and optionally, choosing between German and Italian during the Secondary Education stage.

The British School of Valencia places great importance on the values of respect, tolerance and openness to the world, with particular emphasis on the students’ self-organisation, favouring critical thought and study habits as a means of achieving their all-round development as people and fostering their individuality and integration in society so that they can take on social and professional responsibilities. Order, respect, discipline and social presence are also prominent basic pillars of our academic life.

To convert our educational design into reality, we rely on the vital contributions of our highly qualified teaching staff, made up of British and Spanish teachers, the latter in the areas of Spanish language and culture, and particularly on their dedication, professionalism and commitment to the personal development of each student.

We pay special attention to the diversity of our students through our Guidance Department and a reinforcement programme for students with special needs and abilities. As part of the Annual Teaching Programme, the centre places particular importance on cultural visits as extracurricular activities, always related to the different areas of the study plan at each educational stage.

Because the British School of Valencia is an education centre recognised  as a British School by the Spanish authorities, and inspected under a system endorsed by the British Council, our students obtain not only the Secondary Education qualifications from the British Education System, but also, having studied Spanish Language and Culture and the language of our Autonomous Community, the Secondary Education Qualification from the Spanish Education System. This allows the students to continue their "A" Level studies or to choose any of the three Secondary Education options offered by the Spanish Education System.
