The American School of Bombay

Welcome to the American School of Bombay, a thirty year-old school deeply rooted in a two thousand year old city.

ASB is a kaleidoscope of tradition, culture, values, and ethnicity. Every major world religion and dozens of languages are represented in our community, and spoken on our campus. We are a village of people from over 50 countries, with one educator for every six students. So, what holds this world of plurality together? Our community's drive to fulfill our mission.

The American School of Bombay is a mission-driven school. We know who we are, we know what we have committed ourselves to, and we authentically and enthusiastically endeavor to keep the four commitments set forth in our Mission Statement: to inspire continuous inquiry; to empower students to be courageous, optimistic, and full of integrity; to pursue dreams; and to enhance the lives of others.

Additionally, ASB is a vanguard school in 21st Century education. It is a school immersed in a community of children and adults encouraged to take risks, and stand tall when faced with adversity. It is a place where we care about each other, where we try to make a difference in our world, and where inquiry, empowerment, dreaming, and service are framed with joy.

The French scholar, Romain Rolland, in 1929, wrote, "If there is one place on the face of earth where all the dreams of living men have found a home...it is India." I agree and I like to believe the same about ASB. After all, what better place for dreams to find a home than a school?
