St. Andrew's Church of Scotland in Lisbon is part of the Presbytery of Europe, which has churches throughout a number of major cities in Europe, providing English-language worship in the Reformed tradition. (For more information about the Presbytery of Europe see the Quick Link on the left).
The Church of Scotland is committed to ecumenical co-operation with membership in various church organizations.
The church first congregated in Lisbon in 1866, and has worshipped in Rua Arriaga since 1899. Today, it is part of the Church of Scotland - Scotland's national church. The Church of Scotland is a Reformed church, with a Presbyterian system of church government (i.e. governed by courts of elders, with no bishops).
