The U.S. Embassy EWA Children's Garden Preschool is located in a park-like setting in the U.S. Embassy Housing Compound. The preschool has been serving embassy and non-embassy families for over 30 years.
The Employees Welfare Association is affiliated with the American Embassy in Tokyo. The Children’s Garden was established in the 1970’s and is located in the eleven-acre park-like grounds of the American Embassy Housing Compound in Minato-ku, Tokyo. Within the compound there is a large grassy field, a playground, swimming pool, wading pool and a gym. The school is housed in three spacious classrooms on the ground level, each facing a beautiful Japanese garden with ponds, waterfalls and small bridges and islands where one can observe birds and fish. The classrooms are air-conditioned and have private toileting facilities.
The EWA Children’s Garden exists for the benefit of American Embassy employees who are given priority on spaces available. Remaining openings are made available for other children, regardless of nationality.
Our preschool is open from September to June and programming is also available during the summer for children from 18 months to 5 years of age.
