The people who maintain and contribute to this site are long term expats who have lived continuously in Holland for many years. This experience is reflected in our pages which have been praised for their honesty and authenticity by both expats and Dutch visitors alike.

'Culture shock' and poking fun at the Dutch do not feature here; the writers of these articles get enough of that when they revisit their own countries! Instead, the choice has been for quality articles with solid information reflecting the writers' long-standing experience of all things Dutch.

This site has been around since 2002 and has always strived to maintain high standards, not only in the quality of the articles, but also by providing attractive, quick-loading pages and intuitive navigation.

These high standards could only be guaranteed by an autonomous approach: NL Planet developed its own software, created its own graphic design and produced the photographic material themselves. They also researched and wrote all the articles. Hopefully, this independence, along with a willingness to revise and improve the content constantly, sets NL Planet apart from other similar sites.
